Dev Days Mumbai 2026: More Than an Event, A Community in Motion
On September 5, 2026, developers from across Mumbai came together at Paytm’s Andheri East office for Dev Days Mumbai - a community-led exploration of AI-powered software development, GitHub Copilot, open source, and modern engineering workflows. What emerged was more than a conference. It was a day of learning, building, teaching, and connecting.
Building the Right Room
Dev Days Mumbai drew more than 500 registrations. Venue capacity meant attendance was curated on purpose: students, early-career developers, experienced engineers, architects, open source contributors, startup builders, AI enthusiasts, and community leaders sharing one room.
The goal was never simply to fill seats. It was to make room for conversations between people with different experiences and a shared appetite for learning - hallway chats included.
GitHub as a Social Network for Developers
People often describe GitHub as a code hosting platform. That understates what it has become: the world’s largest social network for developers, where ideas move through repositories, pull requests, discussions, and contributions.
That philosophy shaped Dev Days Mumbai. Speakers anchored sessions in repositories, real code, and practical implementation - not one-off slide decks. Attendees discovered resources, explored projects, and kept the conversation going after the room emptied.
Community is not built when people only sit in rows and watch. It is built when people collaborate.
Creating a Living Archive
Talks, workshop notes, and resources too often vanish into personal folders and forgotten threads. To keep Dev Days Mumbai - and future community events - accessible, we launched the Hackerspace Mumbai Events Repository.
It is a public living archive for session resources, workshop materials, reference repositories, event information, and community-contributed content. Contributions via pull request are welcome: if a talk inspired a project or you documented your learnings, add them.

A Day of Practical Engineering
The agenda focused on real-world implementation as AI becomes part of everyday development workflows. The day opened with a keynote by Augustine Correa on the future of AI-powered software development and agentic workflows, before diving into a series of practical sessions covering GitHub Copilot, cloud-native engineering, security, and production-ready AI tooling.
Multi-Agent Orchestration with Omnigent
Anas Khan explored multi-agent systems - orchestration patterns, tooling, and practical techniques for coordinating AI-assisted workflows.
Closed-Loop Architectures: Making GitHub Copilot Prompt Itself
Pratik Pathak showed how compiler diagnostics, test results, and runtime feedback can feed AI-assisted development, with a practical look at self-improving feedback loops.
Gateway-Level Caching & High-Scale Systems
Anshul Bansal unpacked caching strategies, performance bottlenecks, and architectural trade-offs from operating systems at scale.
Copilot in the Classroom: Adopt Fast, Govern Faster
Alham Shakeel Ahmed Ansari addressed a question many organizations face: how to adopt AI quickly while keeping governance and responsibility intact.
Scaling AI Initiatives
Paytm’s AI team shared how enterprise AI moves from experimentation to operationalization - and the organizational challenges of scaling across a large technology company. Their contribution went beyond hosting: they gave attendees a view into AI applied and governed at industry scale.
Learning by Building
Talks sparked ideas; the workshop turned them into practice. More than 40 developers worked in pairs - one with the GitHub Copilot App, another with the Copilot CLI - comparing approaches on real tasks.
Mentors including Pankaj Gupta, Pratik Pathak, and Anas Khan helped participants through prompts, agents, automation, and debugging. Peer-to-peer exploration remained one of the clearest lessons of the day.
Celebrating the Teachers Among Us
Dev Days Mumbai fell on Teacher’s Day. Teaching does not only happen in classrooms - it happens through open source, pull request reviews, blogs, docs, talks, mentorship, workshops, and community events.
Every speaker, mentor, volunteer, and attendee who shared an insight sustained that culture. The ecosystem is built by people writing code. It is sustained by people sharing knowledge.
Community Moments
Some of the strongest moments sat between the sessions: careers, open source, architecture, startups, and emerging tech.
One of them was a GitHub Star plaque that circulated through the room and into photos - less about one name on metal, more about a community that keeps learning, teaching, and building together.
